ROCK HILL –
A woman was sitting at the dinner table with her family when someone fired shots into their Rock Hill home Monday evening.
The woman heard at least two gunshots outside of her Bynum Avenue house about 8 p.m., according to a Rock Hill police report. She and her family took cover underneath the dining room table and called 911.
She believes the shooting is gang-related, and told police her 15-year-old son has been hanging out with a gang. During a recent incident at a gas station, a 16-year-old gang member was heard saying he was going to kill the woman’s son before he went to court, the report states.
The woman’s son ran out of the house after the shooting, and officers have not yet interviewed him, the report states.
Officers found two shotgun shells in the yard and three shotgun pellets in the interior wall of the house, the report states.
This was the second gang-related shooting in Rock Hill in two days.
On Sunday, a 17-year-old was injured police called a gang-related shooting. The teen claimed he was riding his bike in the area with friends who were walking beside him. When they got to Green Street, a crowd of people began shooting at them.
Shots also were fired into a Green Street home around the same time as the gang-related shooting Sunday. Several people were inside, but no one was hurt.
