ROCK HILL –
A 20-year-old Rock Hill man told police he was stabbed during an armed robbery early Friday morning.
Rock Hill Police met with the victim and a friend who said they were at the Money at 115 S. Cherry Road waiting on another friend when a man approached them and offered to pay them $5 for a ride, according to a Rock Hill Police report.
The man told them to pull into the parking lot of Oakwood Acres Park at 2100 Montclair Ave. Once in the park, the man pulled a knife out and said he also had a gun, the victims told police.
They got out of the vehicle and the man with the knife tried to make one of the victims “tie up to” the other, the report said.
One of the victims struggled with the armed man and was stabbed several times, the report said.
Police caught a suspect in the area, but it’s unclear whether he was involved in the robbery, the report said.
The victim was transported to Piedmont Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
