ROCK HILL –
A Rock Hill hub for the homeless and jobless was burglarized for the second time since the organization recently opened its doors.
According to a Rock Hill Police report, someone shattered a large glass door and entered the center, called Renew Our Community or The ROC, sometime overnight Saturday.
A few laptop computers had been moved from where they were stored to near the shattered glass door and someone unsuccessfully attempted to remove a television. Nothing was actually taken from the center, the report said.
The center, located in the former Good Kia car sales building at the corner of White Street and Dave Lyle Boulevard, helps provide transportation for those in need and helps connect people with other public services.
The center opened around Thanksgiving and has been actively recruiting volunteers and community organizations to join its network.
Dale Dove, the Rock Hill adoption attorney who started The ROC, recently said the center’s next major endeavor is to focus on helping the jobless find work and providing job training.
Last month someone threw a cinder block through the window and stole a television.
