Teen charged with assault & battery

A 14-year-old boy was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and battery after school officials found a Youtube video of him beating up another student at Northwestern High School, police say.

On Wednesday, a school resource officer found video of the assault and was able to identify the victim, according to a Rock Hill police report.

In the video, the teen shoved the victim in the school’s P.E. locker room before pushing him to the ground and hitting him with his fists, the report states. The victim was in a defensive position and managed to get back on his feet.

That’s when the 14-year-old boy wrapped his arms around the victim and began to “drive” him into the lockers, according to the report. The victim began hitting his attacker in defense.

The video then stops, the report says.

The officer managed to track down the student who filmed the video after finding a copy on Facebook.

School administrators requested that the student remove the video, the report states.

The office spoke with the victim and his mother, who told police she wanted to press charges. Officers found the suspect at Fort Mill High School. The report did not specify whether he was a student at Fort Mill High School.
