ROCK HILL — A teenager was bitten by his family’s pit bull after the dog “got loose,” according to a Rock Hill police report.
The boy, 15, found the 3-year-old dog down the street from the family’s Izard Street home and grabbed its loose chain, the report states. The pit bull then “jumped on” the teen and bit his upper lip, according to the report.
The teen was able to get the dog inside a vehicle, then it was seized by York County Animal Control.
The teen was taken to Piedmont Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The pit bull attack is the most recent of several in recent months. A York County 11-year-old boy needed several surgeries earlier this month after he was mauled by a neighbor’s pit bull.
