ROCK HILL — Police on Saturday arrested a Rock Hill woman after she tried to use stolen credit cards to buy several video games and a 55-inch flat screen television from Sears on Dave Lyle Boulevard.
Gloria M. Ballinger, 52, was charged with three counts of obtaining stolen goods under false pretenses after a store manager caught her using three stolen credit cards to purchase items, according to Rock Hill police documents.
Police found Ballinger waiting for a 55-inch television she ordered using someone else’s card. She also charged over $1,700 on another stolen card to buy four Xbox 360 consoles and other merchandise, the report states.
Sears’ manager showed police an email from their corporate office explaining that the credit card used to make several purchases was stolen, the report states.
Police notified the card owners that their cards had been fraudulently used.
Ballinger told officials her boyfriend asked her to make the purchases and take the merchandise home, where she would receive further instructions on what to do with them, a report states.
